The late Robert Peaslee’s tradition continues with the return of the brazing school. The school will be held at our new Brazing Engineering Center at Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze Division in Cincinnati. Our Brazing Engineering Center provides engineering services and training, as well as offering a new half day
of practical experience on the shop floor!

For over 40 years, Wall Colmonoy personnel have been gaining practical experience on actual problems in their brazing plants around the world. In 1950 Robert Peaslee developed the first nickel-based brazing filler metal, trade name Nicrobraz®.

Today, Wall Colmonoy continues to be on the forefront of brazing engineering technology, and the leading manufacturer of an extensive line of nickel-base corrosion resistant brazing filler metals and brazing aids.

• Design: brazing technology, definitions, and overview and joint design.
• Metallurgical Aspect of Modern Furnace Brazing: diffusion
  mechanism and metallurgical reactions betweenbase and filler metal.
• Controlled Atmosphere: overview of brazing atmosphere, evaluation
  and quality control of atmosphere.
  Furnace: Type of furnaces, heating methods and furnace controls.
• Brazing Material Selection: a detailed look at various nickel-base
  braze filler metals, brazing aids, and their use and application.
• Brazing Operation: reviews of fundamental pre- and after- brazing cleaning, assembly, fixture, brazing cycles,and other brazing processes.
• Quality Control: inspection methods and process controls.

Lydia Lee, BSE, M. Eng, MBA
Director of the Brazing Engineering Center for Wall Colmonoy. Lydia studied brazing with the late Robert Peaslee as her teacher and mentor.

Bob Pfouts, BSME
Engineer for Wall Colmonoy Aerobraze. Bob has 20 years of experience working with customers and finding solutions to their brazing and heat treating problems.

Russ Wilcox, BME, MBA
Marketing Applications Engineer for the Alloy Products Group. Russ has over 24 years of experience in the brazing industry.

Bert Breer, BA, MBA
Sales Engineer for the Alloy Products Group. Bert has over 23 years of experience in the brazing industry.

Location and Fees

The cost of the course is $1550. (additional attendees from the same plant location are $1450. each). Any cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the course will be subject to $100.00 cancellation fee. We will also offer the AWS Brazing Handbook as well as Robert Peaslee’s Brazing Footprints book for $130. (A $266. value). Sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The classroom will be held at our Brazing Engineering Center at our Aerobraze Cincinnati location.
